Seeing the ‘Sitting People’ 3D collection on Renderbot got me thinking about the role of passive characters in digital storytelling. Often, we focus on dynamic, action-oriented figures, but there’s something intriguing about the use of more passive, seated characters.

How do they influence the viewer’s perception of a scene? Can a seated character convey a story or emotion as effectively as one in motion?
